Start on Calle Loíza
Calle Loíza carries the highest concentration of vintage and curated secondhand in the metro. Park once near the eastern end, then walk west. Shops here open late — anything before 11am is a gamble — so treat it as an afternoon.
This stretch is where the going-out pieces live: Y2K tops, denim, leather, jewelry and the occasional real designer piece on consignment.

Cut into Santurce proper
West of Loíza, the blocks around Placita de Santurce and Calle Cerra mix consignment, studio shops and pop-ups that appear on weekends. Hours are informal, so check Instagram before you commit to a specific store.
Finish in Río Piedras if you still have energy
Ten minutes south, Río Piedras is the cheap counterweight to Santurce. Paseo de Diego is unsorted, unglamorous and consistently the best value in San Juan for denim, tees and workwear.
The ideal metro day is curated in Santurce, cheap in Río Piedras — in that order, because Río Piedras closes earlier.
Practical notes
Weekdays beat weekends. Racks restock mid-week and get picked over by Saturday night. Bring cash for smaller shops, wear something easy to change out of, and expect limited fitting rooms.
